Mid-Michigan Recovery Services Inc. is a substance use treatment and supportive service agency with over 50 years of active service to the Mid-Michigan community. With approximately $2.5 million annual budget, we served close to 1,000 community members in treatment services and approximately 100 homeless community members with supportive housing services. This organization has served as the Mid-Michigan Affiliate to the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence since 1967. We are seeking applicants for the position of Executive Director of the organization. Services include comprehensive assessments; residential, intensive outpatient and outpatient treatment services and housing and supportive services to individuals struggling with alcohol/substance use disorders.

The Executive Director is responsible for the administration of the corporations operations including oversight of programs, management of physical and financial assets, staff organization/ direction, and oversight of strategic plan of the organization.

Other key duties include fundraising, marketing, and community outreach. The position reports directly to the Board of Directors [Board].


Working with and responding to Board in development of policies, procedures, planning documents including development of long-term and short-term goals.
Preparing funding requests, grant proposals, budgets and amendments for Board approval.
Administration of the budget/fiscal concerns.
Liaison with funding sources and governmental agencies.
Monitoring and evaluating all programs and services: education, assessment, intensive outpatient, outpatient, residential treatment sober housing and supportive services.
Recommending changes to programming and oversight of accreditation and quality improvement.
Coordination of personnel including organizational planning; oversight of staff recruitment, selection, evaluation, supervision, promotion, discipline and discharge.
Coordination of marketing/promotion and enhancing the organization’s visibility with the community, volunteer groups and community organizations.
Promotion of the mission and values of the organization through personal attitudes and behaviors.
Demonstration of cultural competency and ability to work with and serve diverse groups.


Requires a Master’s Degree in health public administration, behavioral sciences, or related area, plus five years’ business administrative and supervisory experience in a human service, volunteer or public agency.

Experience in the field of substance use treatment highly desirable. Those with a history of substance use must have a demonstrated period of continuous recovery/sobriety.
